There has been an immense emotional and financial toll on millions of people. The world can never be the same after December 2019. The pandemic, which started in Wuhan, China has changed everything. Whatever we took for granted is making us realize it’s worth it.

World citizens with deteriorating health lost their fight against Covid, and even the healthier ones weren’t spared. There are thousands who, despite not having any known medical history, couldn’t survive the deadly virus. Businesses had to shut down, due to extensive lockdowns around the world. This left employers in a fix, who had no other resort but to cut back their expenses. Globally many workers were made to work from home due to restricted movements, and the rest were laid off as this was the easiest way to cut back costs.

As per the IMF, the global economy has reduced by 3.5% in 2020, which signifies the deepest global recession since WWII. Likewise, the World Bank has estimated that the pandemic has shoved around 115 million people into extreme poverty during last year. If we discuss stock market you would be surprised to know that during the pandemic, equities plummeted and market volatility sky rocketed.

Then there are many who fell victim to their emotions. For some, their declining business or lost job provoked them to end their lives. Though this isn’t the best way to discuss a global pandemic, we can better prepare for the worst while taking into account the current most awful instances. Financial cuts affected people’s lifestyles. As mentioned earlier, commodities that we always took for granted turned into luxuries. Certain industries suffered irreparable damage during this pandemic. Since almost every country was quick to shut down their borders to safeguard their citizens from the fast-spreading pandemic; airlines, tourism, and entertainment sectors still see no silver lining to recover from the aftermaths of curfews and lockdowns.

There are infinite dimensions to the outcomes of the pandemic. There is a lot we can talk about, as every individual has his version of how the pandemic affected them. As we have discussed earlier, suicides seemed like an easy response for some. Relationships suffered, as human beings globally fell prey to stress, anxiety, and depression. These negative emotions wrecked families and relationships. It is right to state that people failed on this level. Throughout adult life, resilience is taught, but when came the time to practice it, it vanished.

If you are one of those souls who are still in turbulent waters, and cannot find an end to your emotional deprivation, you need to work this out. There is a power within you which only you can reach to achieve inner peace and success in this pandemic. You have to commit your efforts to discover the Power Of YouNo one should allow their circumstance to victimize them.

Every individual is bestowed full control of his destiny and happiness. But when they are on the lookout for happiness beyond themselves, they face failure. Never should anyone rely on any external source for their happiness and joy, as true contentment and elation lie within us.

Another powerful lesson that we can draw from this deadly pandemic is that you shouldn’t necessarily feel guilty for whatever goes wrong in life. The pandemic is not your fault, though we could all have been more prepared to handle it in a better way. In a world that is fast-changing, don’t we feel the need to brace ourselves for what’s coming next? One major problem which has surfaced during the pandemic, is that millennials who crave fame, success, and money never gave importance to their mental well-being. To handle this, we need to delve inside and create a deep harmony between our mind, body, and soul.

Another reason why people need to shift their mindset is because of their jealousy that has evolved in such a despaired era. Out of the several industries that saw a critical decline during this point in time, some witnessed an immense boom. Lady luck blessed the healthcare sector, and those dealing in face masks, gloves, sanitizing equipment, cleaning agents, and certain manufacturing industries. They saw a drastic rise in demand which became hard for them to meet demands. Resenting other people’s success could be your downfall. It is the most negative emotion one can have which can directly create turbulence in mental health.

But has anyone pondered about the flip side of the coin? Instead of complaining of things that one cannot control why not be grateful for what one has? There are countless things for which we can be thankful if we choose to; otherwise, we will end up ranting like the lot. Since we never pay due attention to these dimension, is why we are all heading in the wrong direction.

Lessons to learn from the pandemic:

As we have witnessed, there can be more similar or worse instances in the future. The way we weren’t prepared for this epidemic, we should not want to repeat again.

  • We need to master the art of creating inner harmony to avoid conflict. If you cultivate positive self-healing emotions, you are sure to be satisfied internally.
  • We need to know there is a solution for every problem that exists, and we should strive to reach a way out.
  • Gratitude has a natural healing power which is much needed in this time of distress. Be thankful for even the smallest possible blessings that you possess.
  • We need to focus on what we already have, instead of fretting about what we don’t. It is observed that people, who were able to control these aspects of their personality, remained happy and contented even during complicated times.
  • Another point worth pondering about is those who managed to control their emotions are now successful entrepreneurs. They didn’t let such tough times rule them; rather they decided to switch to what was in demand. They made big profits dealing in commodities which were most sought after.
  • When the mindset is stable, steady thoughts come in leading to smart decisions, which guarantee great success.
  • The biggest lesson we should learn is how to be emotionally intelligent, as this is the only avenue that can open a multitude of possibilities for anyone. People who can manage themselves during hard times always outshine others.
