Your body, as you hear it often, is a sacred temple. Fortunately, some people take enough care of this temple, while some choose to ignore it, neglect it. There is nothing new about the fact that the human body is being used every single second of the day even when you are sound asleep. The human body as part of the four dimensions, is as vital as the other three. If you do not have a firm grip on your body, you will ultimately lose sight of everything else.

Taking care of your body is your prime responsibility and you need to acknowledge this. This is similar to owning a car which you use to commute to work. At the end of the day, your car will show signs of wearing out which certainly need to be fixed and maintained. The human body works similarly, but it is often forgotten that it too needs to be maintained and refreshed in one way or the other.

COMMON PERCEPTIONS ABOUT THE BODY

Many people say that the body is a loyal servant of the mind which is partially true. Because both the body and mind work in close harmony to give their maximum optimum performance to deliver high-quality results.

Another common perception is that the human body is a true reflection of its owner. It is through the body that people communicate their thoughts, ideas, feelings, connections, etc. No matter what kind of emotion you experience; you can feel it through your body as well. For example, if a certain thought is weighing you down, you feel a dull ache around your shoulders, a sore back, etc.

It is the physical body where the emotions, intellect, and spirit come into physical existence. Whatever you feel inside your body takes the shape and form of actions to be revealed to the external world. This is why the physical body is a good indicator of how things are going on inside the body.

People often mistake that a healthy body has no diseases. This notion is true to some extent, but it does not cover the whole truth. There is much more to a healthy body than just the absence of diseases. A healthy body is acquainted with exercising techniques on regular basis. It receives good quality, well-balanced food and spends ample time outdoors to allow it to mingle with Mother Nature, as well as enough time indoors to reset and reboot from the daily chores.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BALANCED, UNDER-BALANCED, AND OVERBALANCED BODY.

Everything in life is about striking the right balance, from the smallest to the biggest things. From the aforementioned discussion, you might have understood that there is a huge difference between the three types of bodies.

An Over-Balanced Body. It is focused in one direction way more than it is needed. For example, if you are a fitness freak, you will devote yourself to excessive exercise regimens that will do more harm than good to your body. Similarly, spending too much time inside or outside will not have a beneficial effect either. Likewise, people who crave sweet things, and hoard them, will end up with diabetes. Or, if they have not done exercise regularly, they will surely turn obese.

An Under-balanced Body. This one can be as dangerous as an over-balanced body. If you are eating less than what your body needs, not spending enough time outdoors or indoors, not taking sufficient vitamins, minerals, or not exercising, will show negative signs too. All these will lead to an unbalanced body.

A Balanced Body. A balanced body is healthy inside out. It gets the right exercise, balanced meal proportions, and also gets enough rest and sleep.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY?

There are infinite things which you can do to take care of your body. Let’s shed light on a few for you;

  1. Sleep.

Make sure to get a good night’s sleep as it is vital to unwind for another busy day ahead. Sleep and rest are very important for a balanced body. If you speak about the benefits, you will be surprised to know them.

  • you will get sick less often
  • you will maintain a healthy weight
  • you will lower your risk for serious health problems like diabetes and heart disease
  • it will reduce stress and improve your mood
  • you will think clearly and do better at work
  • you will get along better with people
  • you will make better decisions

These are enough to make you focus on your sleep from now on.

  1. Meditation.

Meditation is your body’s weapon to release all the unnecessary negative energies to allow you to focus on the constructive positive energies.

Meditation also;

  • enhances empathy
  • improves cognition
  • is a natural stress stabilizer
  • promotes emotional health and well being
  • increases attention
  1. Exercise.

Any time of the day, you can choose to get your heart pumping by doing aerobics, cardio, Pilates, high or low-intensity workouts. By indulging in any regular physical activity, you can improve your muscle strength and boost your endurance levels. Exercise helps to deliver oxygen and nutrients to your tissues, which helps the cardiovascular system to work more efficiently. When your health and lung health improves, you will feel more oriented to carry on your daily chores.

  1. Eat healthy foods.

You are what you eat. Nothing can replace a healthy diet. One which has all the components needed to keep you functioning well. Eating healthy can help to reduce the risk of several physical health problems, like heart disease and diabetes. It also helps with sleeping patterns, energy levels, and your overall general health. It is good to notice your moods are often affected by the types of food you choose to eat, as well as how much you eat.

  1. Spend time in nature.

They say nature has healing power and this is why you should take time out of your schedule to allow yourself to relax in nature. Whether it means sitting in your backyard or going out for an adventure, you need to spend time outdoors as it has lots of benefits.

  1. Learn to listen to your body.

When it comes to listening to your body, many people falsely believe that it is not that important. The body has its mechanism of telling you what it needs. Many times, you can evade an injury or illness by just listening to your body.

There are days when you feel exhausted, every part of your body hurts because you have overworked. You then need to take a break or relax for a couple of hours. When it comes to listening, you need to accept whatever is going on with your body. You cannot choose to ignore it and continue normally so the first step is acceptance.

The second step after the acceptance is to respond to whatever your body signals towards. Responding is a crucial step towards the well-being of your body. You should not ignore the message, but respond as fast as you can.

Writing can be a very therapeutic experience of self-discovery, reconnecting with your true self, and processing your deepest feelings and emotions. What is happening in your life and what you can do to improve it? What makes you mad? What is your body experiencing on a day-to-day basis? Is it numb? Is it in pain? Write down everything and in the process, you will see how written things help you understand and experience your body in an entirely different way.

SELF-CARE.

Last but not least is the need to find time for self-care. Find time to go out and be with yourself. Experience the world, listen to good music, go to the beach, or make yourself a comfortable bath and experience the sheer joy of your company. Just take your time and give your body what it needs and you will see how things start to change for the better.

You need to listen to your body as it will tell you whatever you need to know. The body gathers negative and positive effects from the food consumed, exercise that is done, and from the infinite emotions and feelings that are fed to its mind. You need to recognize what your body needs way before it shows signs, and demands it from you because then it might be too late.

Your body is a precious thing, which should be treated with utmost care. No matter what you do, your body is helping you achieve your goals. You should take care of it every day. When you have a healthy body, you can better follow the directions of your mind to achieve anything and everything. Remember this to stay on the path to success.
